Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle s/n 83628, manufactured in 1894 and chambered in obsolete 38-56 WCF calibre. It has a 23 1/2 inch full octagonal barrel, with full magazine tube. The stock and forearm are made from plain straight grain walnut, with a rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue finish to barrel, with case-hardened frame, lever, forearm cap, hammer and buttplate.
It has an elevator adjustable rear sight, with serrated thumbpiece and a Lyman’s “Hunting” front sight. The ivory bead is missing
This attractive looking “86”, is in every good condition, with the metal a mixture of blue/grey patina with areas of cold blue. The bore is turning dark, with good rifling. The action is tight and crisp.
