Second model, Whitney Navy, 2nd Type percussion revolver s/n 1770 A, with 7 ½ inch octagonal barrel, manufactured late 1850’s to early 1860’s in .36 calibre.
Address: “E. WHITNEY / N. HAVEN. Six shot cylinder, with scene of eagle, shield and lion. Loading lever secured at the muzzle end of the barrel, with a ball-type latch. It is attached to the frame by a pin secured by wingnut. Blued finish to barrel and frame with case-coloured loading lever and hammer. Two-piece varnished walnut grips numbered to the gun.
Very good to fine condition, with much original blue. All matching numbers, bright 9/10 bore. Mechanically excellent and in good working order.
