Beautiful, Master engraved and inscribed Uberti 1860 Henry Rifle s/n 00156, with brass receiver, 24½ inch barrel, handsome rear stocks and chambered in .44/40 smoothbore calibre. Manufactured circa 1981. This is a Section One firearm in the UK.

Professionally engraved in the 1990’s by Birmingham master engraver to Webley & Scott, Don Blocksidge. Nimschke style scroll engraving and border work to the brass receiver and crescent brass butt-plate. The inscription within a rectangular border on the right side of the receiver reads “CHAIRMAN / WARWICKSHIRE / M.L.A.G.B.”. The inscription within a rectangular border on the left side of the receiver reads “PRESENTED TO / JOHN MOGRIDGE”

The original Henry Model 1860 rifle in .44 rimfire calibre, was one of the most coveted rifles in the U.S. Civil War. It became infamous among Confederate troops as the rifle that Yankee soldiers could “Load on Sunday and shoot all week.”

Uberti has faithfully reconstructed this fully functional brass-receiver Uberti 1860 Henry rifle. It is an absolute favourite in N-SSA target shooting competitions, thanks to its historic looks, fast handling and great accuracy. It has a lever lock at the rear of receiver. The external cartridge follower aids in loading the tubular magazine. It has swivels on the left side of the stock and barrel and vacant butt trap for cleaning rods on the butt-plate. The ladder-type adjustable rear sight has graduations from one to eight hundred yards.

This historic replica Henry rifle is in excellent near new condition, with a few scuffs and storage marks to the stock. It has been lightly used, but not abused, with a great action and mint 10/10 bright bore. Section One firearm in the UK.
