Sharps New Model 1863 Saddle Ring carbine conversion s/n 74682 in 52-70 calibre, with 22 inch round barrel which has six groove rifling.
The right side of the receiver is stamped “C. SHARPS PAT. / OCT 5TH 1852” and towards the top “R.S. LAWRENCE PAT / APRIL 12TH 1852”. On the breech end of the barrel is stamped “ NEW MODEL 1863”. On the left side of the receiver is stamped “C. SHARPS PAT. / SEPT. 12th 1848”. The rear sight is stamped “LAWRENCE / PATENTED / FEB 15TH 1859”. It has iron furniture, with a walnut stock and forend.
Nice patina with no original finish. Some of the markings are faint. Good working order with bright 9/10 bore.
