Early Series 1, Manhattan Navy percussion .36 percussion five-shot revolver, serial number 2172, manufactured circa 1859 in Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A., with octagonal 6 ½ inch barrel. One-line address: “MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK NEW YORK”. Complimented with one-piece varnished walnut grips. All matching numbers, except the replaced wedge. Blued finish, with case-coloured frame, hammer and loading lever. Silver-plated brass back-strap and brass trigger-guard. The five-shot cylinder has five decorative oval panels depicting military and naval scenes, roll-engraved around the periphery.

Overall in good condition retaining little original finish, mainly a patina finish. The cylinder retains about 60% of its five decorative oval panels. The frame has been lightly cleaned.  The action is a little sloppy and the bore is good 7/10.
