Excellent Civil War period, Martially inspected Remington New Model Army percussion revolver, serial number 46822. Eight inch octagonal barrel, with three-line address: “PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK.U.S.A. / NEW-MODEL”.

Blued barrel, frame, back-strap, trigger, web-shaped loading lever and cylinder, with case-coloured hammer. The rounded trigger-guard assembly remains plain brass. Complimented with two-piece oiled walnut grips, with serial number pencilled in on both grips. The Government inspector’s cartouche is visible on the left grip, with the initials of GP (Giles Porter 1862-1865). There are military sub-inspector initials of “C”, “L” and “H” on the barrel, frame, cylinder, grips and trigger-guard.,  

Overall with more 90% plus original military finish remaining, with the balance flaked to a pleasing brown patina. Virtually all the case colours on the hammer, All matching numbers 46822 to barrel, grip-strap, cylinder (6822) and grips. Minty grips with sharp “GP” cartouche.  Good working order with tight action and 10/10 bright bore and strong rifling. Appears to be unfired. An hard to find American Civil War Remington revolver in excellent plus condition.
