Remington New Model Army factory conversion (to metallic cartridge) five shot revolver, serial number 99480 with 307 conversion number, in obsolete .46 Remington rimfire calibre, with extractor on the right side of the frame which slots into the original percussion web-shaped loading lever.

The percussion serial number 99840 and conversion number stamped under the barrel towards the breech end and on the left side of the grip strap. There is also “222 stamped on the grip-strap. The top right side of the receiver is stamped “C.A 307”. It has an eight inch octagonal barrel, with three-line address: “PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK.U.S.A. / NEW-MODEL”. The is an inspection letter “D” stamped forward of the trigger-guard. It has a blued barrel, frame, back-strap, brass trigger, web-shaped loading lever and cylinder, with case-coloured hammer. The rounded trigger-guard assembly remains plain brass. Complimented with two-piece varnished walnut grips.  

Overall with about 50% original finish remaining. There are several dings and storage marks on the grips. Good working order with tight action and 10/10 bright bore and strong rifling. A hard to find, factory converted Remington Model 1858 revolver, in fine condition.
