Rare Martially inspected, Remington Model 1871 Army Rolling Block pistol, manufactured circa 1872-1888 in obsolete .50 centrefire calibre with an eight inch round barrel. Total manufactured, only 6,000.
The frame is stamped: “REMINGTON,S ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. / PAT. MAY 3 NOV 15th, 1864 April 17th, 1866”, plus a P and a S. The grips bear the government inspector initials of “C.R.S.” on the left side.
Blued barrel, case-coloured frame and trigger-guard, with hammer and breech-block finished bright. Complimented with walnut grips and forend. Near excellent condition, good working order and bright 9/10 plus rifled bore.
