Very good Civil War period, Martially inspected Remington New Model Army percussion revolver, serial number 106342. Eight inch octagonal barrel, with three-line address: “PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK.U.S.A. / NEW-MODEL”. Blued barrel, frame, back-strap, trigger, web-shaped loading lever and cylinder, with case-coloured hammer. The rounded trigger-guard assembly remains plain brass. Complimented with two-piece oiled walnut grips. The Government inspector’s cartouche is strongly visible on the left grip, with the initials of OWA (O.W. Ainsworth). There are military sub-inspector initials of “D”, “H” “R” and “A” on the barrel, frame, cylinder, grips and trigger-guard.,

Overall with about 20% original military finish remaining. Grips are in excellent condition, with a strong cartouche. The number is pencilled on the inside of both grips. Good working order with tight action and 9/10 plus bright bore and strong rifling. A hard to find American Civil War revolver in very good condition.
