Large 500 count japanned tin cap tin with circular orange label which reads: “500 / WATERPROOF / Percussion Caps / for / CENTRAL-FIRE / BREECH-LOADING / CASES. ELEY BROs, LONDON.” Caps for Colt Thuer revolvers. See “Colt Accoutrements 1834- 1911” by Robin Rapley, page 208. Excellent condition.
Excellent British-proofed, Colt No1 Deringer s/n 1660, manufactured circa 1870-1890. Rare pistol (only about 6,500 manufactured) in obsolete .41 rimfire calibre. Barrel retains most of its original deep blue finish and strong case colours to the hammer. Sharp barrel address, serial numbers and engraving to the frame. Good action with a minty 9/10 bore. One of the best that I have seen for a long time.
