Ultra rare and near mint, 99% bag-type powder flask with lanyard ring, manufactured by Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, under contract to Colt. The brass circular top is stamped “JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD” and “COLTS POCKET FLASK” in an arc. This flask, even-though it says “COLTS POCKET FLASK” is for the Colt Model 1862 London Police percussion revolvers that were shipped, circa 1862 to the early 1870’s, to Colt’s London Agency at 14, Pall Mall. The three-position Police charger, which is on this flask is 4/8, 5/8 and 6/8 drams. The end of the charger is chamfered, to accept the chamber of the cylinder. The brass top is polished, with a fire-blue spring. The body is a dark brown / red lacquer. Excellent to near mint. 4 ½ x 1 ½ inches.
