Egyptian contract Remington Model 1875 single action revolver s/n 3578 manufactured circa 1875-189, in obsolete .44 Remington calibre with lanyard ring on the butt. Total quantity estimated approximately at 25,000 to 30,000. Six shot fluted cylinder, with 7 ½ inch round barrel. The barrel address reads ‘E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.’, from breech to muzzle. This model is distinguishable from the Colt Model 1873 single action revolver, by its web-like contour on the underside of the ejector housing. The barrel has a pinched type fore-sight. Blued finish, with case coloured hammer and loading gate.

Furnished with two-piece walnut grips with the serial number written in pencil on the inside of each grip. The left-hand grip bears a cartouche with ‘FR’ within. There is also the letter ‘R’ stamped on the left side of the barrel and a star stamped on the breech end of the left side of the barrel.

It is believed that the Egyptian contract of 10,000 Model 1875’s was never delivered to the Egyptian government. Retaining much original blue to the web and cylinder. In good working order. The bore is 10/10 mirror bright. A great addition to any collection.
