Near mint, Colt Model 1873 Single Action Bisley revolver, serial number 207950, manufactured circa 1901, with 7 1/2 inch barrel in obsolete .44 Russian calibre. Seven and a half inch barrel with ‘COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.’ address, on the top and ‘(BISLEY MODEL.) 44 RUSSIAN CTG.’ rolled on the left side of the barrel. Two-line Patent dates on the left side of the frame: ‘PAT.SEPT.19.1871. / JULY 2.1872.JAN.19.1875.’ with rampant colt, within a circle, to the right side. Blued barrel, cylinder, ejector housing, back-strap and trigger-guard and case-coloured frame and hammer. Fire-blued trigger and screws. This revolver is furnished with two-piece chequered, black gutta percha hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt within an oval at the top. The cylinder is secured by a transverse, spring loaded cylinder pin release base pin.
Overall in excellent to near mint condition retaining most of its original blue and case colours. Good action and in good working order. The bore is 10/10 bright. A difficult to improve upon Bisley revolver with desirable 7 1/2 inch barrel.
