Excellent, minty cased five shot, Colt Model 1849 Pocket percussion revolver s/n 100768 manufactured circa 1855 with a four inch barrel.

It is in .31 caliber with an octagonal barrel and loading lever with small oval trigger-guard. The barrel and cylinder are blued, with the frame, hammer and loading lever casehardened. The brass back-strap and brass trigger-guard are silver-plated. The grips are one-piece varnished walnut. This beautiful little revolver bears the two-line address within finials “ADDRESS SAM’L COLT / NEW YORK CITY” and the frame is stamped on the left side with small ‘COLTS/PATENT’ on two lines. The cylinder has the roll design of the stagecoach holdup scene.

This Pocket revolver is in excellent condition plus and retains most of its original blue finish to the barrel, frame and cylinder and virtually all its case colours to the frame, loading lever assembly and hammer. The cylinder retains 99% of the stagecoach holdup scene. Also, most of its silver-plating to the brass back-strap and small brass trigger-guard remain. It has all matching numbers including the wedge (00768). The cylinder retains all five safety locking pins. The bright bore rates at 9/10 plus. The action is tight and the gun is in good working order. A great addition to your Colt collection.
