First year of production, Colt Cloverleaf Model .41 rimfire calibre revolver serial number 6610, manufactured circa 1871, with four shot type cylinder with 3 inch round barrel.

Colt Cloverleaf Model .41 rimfire calibre revolver serial number 6610, manufactured circa 1871 (first year of production), four shot type cylinder with 3 inch round barrel. Two line ‘COLTS HOUSE PISTOL / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.’ address. Blue barrel, cylinder and hammer. Silver plated brass solid frame with two piece varnished walnut grips.

Overall in excellent original condition. Barrel with sharp lettering to the address and retaining 90% bright original blue. The cylinder retains 90% plus even bright blue with the hammer has 90% bright blue.  The frame shows 85% silver plating which is turning to black from years of not being cleaned. The two piece varnished walnut grips are in excellent condition, retaining 95% plus of their original varnish with minor nicks and storage marks. Screws are excellent, bore is very good 8/10 and the action is crisp and tight.

A very nice example of Colt’s first production solid frame revolver chambered for a metallic cartridge and also first year of production of that model.
