Attractive London retailed, cased, British proofed, engraved Colt New Line .32 rimfire single action revolver s/n 2255, manufactured circa 1874, with 2 ¼ inch round barrel, silver finish and two-piece rosewood grips.
Retailer engraved with broad floral scrolls. The top of the barrel has the two-line address and the bottom has the serial number 1011 and two British proofs. The chambers of the cylinder have British proofs and the rear face is numbered 2115. The left side of the grip frame and inside of each grip are numbered 2255. Cased in leather wrapped retailer style hard case, containing a screwdriver/cleaning rod.
The condition is very fine as retailer engraved and plated, retaining 90% plus of the silver-plated finish. Some scattered light flaking and a few small thinned spots on the cylinder, showing blue finish. The grips are fine with some scattered minor dings and light wear of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear.
