Remington-Elliot single shot derringer s/n 1870 manufactured circa 1867 to 1888 in obsolete .41 rimfire calibre with 2½ inch barrel and complimented with two-piece walnut grips. The barrel address reads “REMINGTONS, ILION, N.Y. PAT. AUG. 27, 1867”. It was known as the Vest Pocket Derringer Pistol (Elliot’s Patent). It has an ingenious mechanism consisting of trigger, combination hammer-breechblock and mainspring. There were only about 10,000 manufactured of this model.
